NestCheck was born from a shared realization between a local contractor and a busy homeowner that the way we care for our homes is fundamentally broken. We have an inspector do a thorough walkthrough before we purchase our home, but then it never happens again until it's too late.

Matt and Paul - NestCheck Founders

A Meeting of the Minds

The story of NestCheck began when Matt, a Warwick native and general contractor with over 20 years of experience, was finishing renovations on the home of Paul, a local father of three young children.

Matt had seen time and time again the costly impact of neglect in his customers' homes. Not because homeowners didn't care—they simply didn't know what to look for until it was too late. A small roof leak ignored for six months. A seized shutoff valve discovered during an emergency. Issues that could have been caught early, before they became expensive crises that always seemed to happen at the worst possible time.

Paul knew this reality firsthand. Like most busy parents, he operated in reactive mode—waiting for something to break before calling for help. Between work deadlines and three kids under ten, staying proactive about home maintenance felt impossible.

One afternoon, while wrapping up the job, Matt mentioned an idea he'd been developing—a service that would help homeowners stay ahead of the small issues before they snowball into major problems.

"I had this same idea years ago!"

— Paul's immediate response

That conversation became NestCheck. By combining Matt's 20 years of technical expertise with Paul's understanding of what busy families actually need, they created something simple: regular professional inspections that catch issues early, document everything, and give homeowners the knowledge to make informed decisions.

The families using NestCheck today aren't just protecting their investment—they're taking control. They sleep better knowing small problems won't become midnight emergencies. They have documentation and expert observations that help them plan and budget. And they're showing their neighbors that staying on top of home maintenance doesn't have to be overwhelming.
